Crisis and Failure are the fun part!

Why are we reluctant to bring ourselves out of the comfort zone and push ourselves to do something new or tougher? This is because we are all afraid of failure which in turn will cause us to lose some pride and respect etc. But in order to have more success, we need to be willing to accept more failure!

To counteract this fear, Gretchen told herself, "I enjoy the fun of failure. It's fun to fail. It's part of being ambitious; it's part of being creative. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing badly too."

Everyone do fail at 1 point in time before. Eg, pitching for a job and although it looked promising, you got rejected. But because you dare risk failure, it gives you the opportunity to score some successes which some can be surprises. Eg, my friend who was turned down for a role she applied for in a MNC (Sales Executive) was in turn offered a better position (Marketing Assistant Manager).

Being happier makes it easier for one to risk failure - or rather, easier for one to embrace the fun of failure. A tough goal is much easier to tackle when you are in a happy frame of mind. And once you achieved it, it will become an engine of happiness itself.

"Between the ages of twenty and forty, we are engaged in the process of discovering who we are, which involves learning the difference between accidental limitations which is our duty to outgrow and the necessary limitations of our nature beyond which we cannot trespass with impunity." - W.H. Auden

"Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?" - Robert Browning
